Besides these games, people used to enjoy themselves by puppet show, Ras lila, Ram lila, etc. But in modern times science has given us many new means of entertainment. Among them, the radio, the television and the cinema are the main items. By radio, we hear and enjoy music, dramas, stories and the poems of the poets. But with the help of the televison set we see on its screen, the pictures of the singers, the musicians with their musical instruments, the speakers delivering their speeches, the actors and the actresses playing their parts in a drama and even the players playing in the fields. We enjoy every item sitting at home.
Educated persons enjoy themselves by reading poems, stories, dramas and novels. Some people enjoy themselves by playing on their musical instruments or listening to some sweet tunes. Besides, the art of painting is a very valuable means of entertainment. The artists paint beautiful pictures on paper or piece of cloth. People decorate the walls of their houses with these pictures.
Chess, choppad, playing cards, game of snakes and ladders, carrom, etc. are also very interesting games, Badminton played on a lawn is also a very exciting game. The chief games that are played on the playground are hockey, football, cricket, etc. They also give entertainment. Journeys, fairs, exhibitions, visits to a circus or zoo are also helpful for entertainment.
Entertainment is very necessary for life. Without it one's life becomes dull. Man has many means of entertainment. We should make good choice for our entertainment. They make our life active and our minds and hearts joyful.
