All schools celebrate their Annual Function every year. Our institution celebrates it in February, the fine season of the year. This year it was performed on February 15th and 16th. Its preparations began on 14th of the month. The building was decorated with colourful buntings, baloons and electric bulbs of different colours.
A big tent was erected in the compound of the school. A dias was raised on one side in the tent. Seating arrangement for the guests as well as for the students was made in front of the dias. To make their show impressive on the main day players of football, volley-ball, etc. were practising on their fields. Training was also being given to the scouts. The N.C.C. cadets were practising the act of salutation to the chief-guest.
In the morning of the 15th February there were contests in games and sports. At ten o'clock, competitions in debate, essay writing, story-writing, etc. started. At night, there were dramatic performances. Some one-act plays were very successful.
A special programme was to be whed on the 16th February. The education minister of the state was to award the prizes to the successful students. The car of the chief guest arrived at the gate of the school at four o'clock. Our principal greeted him. He was saluted by the N.C.C. cadets.
Our principal read the Annual report of the school. The honourable minister gave prizes to the winners in different competitions. He praised the students as well as the teachers for their work. He praised chiefly the theatrical performances of the actors. The programme ended with the National song. Finally a feast was arranged in honour of the minister.
Thus the Annual function of our school ended in great success. All were satisfied for their part they had played.
